Woman grabs subway rider's phone, punches her in the face at WTC station

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police on Thursday released footage of a woman accused of grabbing a Manhattan subway rider's phone then punching her in the face last week.

It happened at approximately 10:10 a.m. on Thursday, April 10, at the Courtland Street subway station, authorities said.

According to officials, a 27-year-old woman was approached by the suspect who then stole her cell phone from her hand and struck the victim in the face with a closed fist.

The attacker then fled the station, on foot, to parts unknown.

EMS transported the victim to New York Presbyterian-Lower Manhattan Hospital in stable condition.

The suspect was last seen wearing sunglasses, a black sweater, black pants, and black sneakers.
