NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man accused of abducting a woman in Pennsylvania Tuesday morning is in custody after she was rescued by police near the Holland Tunnel, authorities said.
Officials said 27-year-old Ruben Melendez Carrion, 27, grabbed a 25-year-old woman and forcing her into a car at about 7:20 a.m. in the QVC parking lot in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania before driving off at a "high rate of speed," Northampton County District Attorney Terry Houck told lehighvalleylive.com.
Melendez Carrion fled into New Jersey in a black 2012 Honda Civic but was arrested after the vehicle was stopped near the Holland Tunnel after having traveled through the Holland Tunnel into New York at approximately 9:40 a.m., Houck said.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey seized the Civic and the victim is in the process of being medically checked, Houck added.
Authorities are investigating the events that led to the incident and if the pair knew each other prior to Tuesday.
