NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man accused of abducting a woman in Pennsylvania Tuesday morning is in custody after she was rescued by police near the Holland Tunnel, authorities said.

Officials said 27-year-old Ruben Melendez Carrion, 27, grabbed a 25-year-old woman and forcing her into a car at about 7:20 a.m. in the QVC parking lot in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania before driving off at a "high rate of speed," Northampton County District Attorney Terry Houck told lehighvalleylive.com.

Melendez Carrion fled into New Jersey in a black 2012 Honda Civic but was arrested after the vehicle was stopped near the Holland Tunnel after having traveled through the Holland Tunnel into New York at approximately 9:40 a.m., Houck said.
