NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for a truck driver after a woman was fatally struck in Brooklyn early Friday morning in a hit-and-run crash.
Just after 5:20 a.m., the woman was hit by an 18-wheeler truck on Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver did not remain at the scene and officials believe the driver may not have known a pedestrian was struck.
While the victim's identity has not been released by officials, she’s said to be an older woman who would often ask drivers for money on Eastern Parkway.
The investigation remains ongoing.
