NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- One woman died and nearly a dozen others were injured in a fire at Harlem NYCHA building Thursday night, fire officials said.
The fire broke out out at about 8:15 p.m. at 1980 Park Ave., officials said.
FDNY received a report of smoke in the building and upon arrival discovered the fire on the first floor of the 14-story building.
A 41-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
One firefighter was treated for minor burns, authorities said.
Six residents and two police officers were also treated for smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire remains unclear.
