NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A woman was pulled by her hair, punched in the face and knocked to the ground as a thief robbed her on an Upper Manhattan subway train, police said.
The NYPD released an image Wednesday of the suspect in the attack last Wednesday night aboard a northbound B train rolling through Harlem.
The 24-year-old victim was riding the train at 9:45 p.m. when she was approached by her attacker just south of the 145th Street station.
The assailant grabbed her by her hair, slugged her in the face and forced her to the floor of the train, police said.
As the victim was down, the thief stole her cellphone and fled at the 145th Street station, according to cops.
The victim suffered bruising to her face and lacerations to her hand.
EMS transported her to NYC Health + Hospitals/ Harlem, where she was listed in stable condition.
