NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police on Tuesday are looking to identify a man accused of punching and slashing a woman he groped while aboard a Bronx MTA bus last week.

At approximately 5:15 p.m. on Friday, a 33-year-old woman was on the MTA Bx2 bus in the vicinity of East Tremont Avenue and Grand Concourse in Mount Hope when the suspect rubbed the right side of her buttock, authorities said.

According to officials, the victim and the suspect got into a verbal argument, and a physical altercation ensued.

The suspect repeatedly punched and kicked the victim. She also sustained a slashed wound to the face and was transported by EMS to BronxCare Health System in stable condition.

The suspect fled the location on foot to parts unknown.

He was last seen wearing a black or gray jacket, black and blue jeans, a pink backpack, white sneakers, and a large Bluetooth headphone.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
