NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD released surveillance images on Friday of a woman wanted for allegedly draining thousands from a victim's bank account in Brooklyn.
The investigation began on Wednesday, June 10, at approximately 3 p.m., when a 55-year-old woman was alerted to multiple unauthorized transactions on her account, authorities said.
Even though the victim still had her physical bank card in her possession, detectives discovered that the suspect had managed to use her personal information to fraudulently order a duplicate debit card, cops said.
The suspect then used that card to make a series of large cash withdrawals totaling $12,000 at various Citibank branches across Brooklyn, according to officials. The surveillance footage released by police was obtained from a branch in Bushwick.
Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
