NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Police are searching for a woman who allegedly threw a bottle at an officer's head outside of the NYPD headquarters in lower Manhattan last week while a large protest was ongoing.
At about 9:16 p.m. on March 8, officers attempted to disperse what they referred to as a "disorderly group" in the back of One Police Plaza in the Civic Center neighborhood.
While police responded, an unknown woman allegedly threw a bottle, striking an officer in the head.
The cop sustained minor injuries and was treated at a local area hospital.
The suspect fled on foot, and police released photos of her to help in their investigation.
According to the New York Daily News, around the same time as the incident there was a large pro-Palestinian protest at Park Row and Pearl Street, near the back of One Police Plaza. Twelve protesters were taken into custody, police had said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
