MELVILLE, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — Suffolk County authorities released a photo of a woman they said managed to walk away with thousands of dollars in precious metals after a brazen theft at a Melville shipping facility last month.
At around 5 p.m. on March 23, the suspect entered a FedEx processing center located at 270 Express Drive South and presented a fraudulent identification card to claim a package, officials said. The package contained approximately $19,000 worth of silver bars and coins.
The woman fled the scene in a white electric Chevrolet Equinox.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest.
