Driver fatally reverses box truck into worker at Amazon warehouse on Staten Island

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A worker was killed at an Amazon warehouse on Staten Island late Wednesday when a box truck driver reversed into him, police said.

The driver, a 40-year-old man, was reversing a truck at the fulfillment center at 546 Gulf Ave. shortly before 11 p.m. when he backed into the 34-year-old worker, who was in his blind spot, according to police.

The worker was rushed to Richmond University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

He not yet been identified.

No arrests had been reported Thursday as the investigation continued.
