NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A Manhattan grocery store worker slashed a customer's back with a knife after the customer claimed he overcharged his credit card, the NYPD said Wednesday.
The 34-year-old man was inside the store at 200 W. 14th St., near 7th Avenue, in Chelsea around 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 5 when he got into an argument with an employee after his credit card was overcharged, police said.
At some point during the argument, the employee pulled out a knife and slashed the man once on his lower back, the NYPD said.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition after the attack, police said. The NYPD is now searching for the employee, an approximately 28-year-old man who was last seen wearing a white undershirt, blue pants and black sneakers.
