LEVITTOWN, N.Y. (1010 WINS) – An attempted breakup on Long Island ended in violence Tuesday night when a woman allegedly brandished two knives and slashed her beau, police said Wednesday.

Marienny Yanez, 29, of Levittown, was arrested for assault in connection with the slashing at a home in Levittown.

Officers responding to a 911 call around 9:20 p.m. found no one at the scene, but there was blood across the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom floors, police said.

They eventually tracked down the victim, a 29-year-old man, to a local hospital, where he told them that he and Yanez had an argument about ending their relationship.

It’s unclear who was being dumped, but the fight ended with Yanez brandishing "a knife in each hand" and lunging at him, police said. He put his right arm up to block the attack and suffered a laceration to his forearm.

She then dropped the knives and accompanied him to the hospital, according to police.

She was arrested without incident on charges of assault, criminal mischief and criminal possession of a weapon.
