FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (WCBS 880) — A 21-year-old man is accused of trying to rob a Ralph's Italian Ices on Long Island.
Police said the incident occurred around 4:40 p.m. Thursday at the store located at 850 Main St in Farmingdale.

The suspect, identified as Vincent Baxter of Amityville, allegedly passed a note demanding money to a 53-year-old employee.
When the worker refused to comply, she chased the suspect across the street, where police said Baxter broke off a flagpole from another storefront and then turned to face the victim.
He then dropped the flag and ran off on foot.
Police managed to track him down a couple miles away. He was arrested without incident.
Baxter is charged with attempted robbery, menacing and criminal mischief. He was scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Mineola.
