NEW HAVEN, Conn. (1010 WINS) — A Connecticut man is reportedly fighting for his life after a shooting in New Haven Tuesday left him in critical condition.
NBC Connecticut reports the 24-year-old man was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Officers were alerted to the shooting after a ShotSpotter notified police to gunfire on Whalley Avenue around 12:15 p.m.
People in the area reportedly heard several gunshots and saw a man fall to the ground outside a corner convenience store, according to the New Haven Independent. The gunman then allegedly fled the scene in a vehicle that sped away.
The New Haven Independent reports the victim was the fifth person reported shot in the city in five days.
