
NEWARK, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A 35-year-old man was found guilty of using a machete to murder a man in Newark last year, authorities announced Friday.
Terrance Bailey was convicted of murder and weapons charges.
The incident occurred on Feb. 20, 2024, near 207 Cathedral Ct. in Newark.
According to officials, Bailey and an unidentified accomplice pursued 28-year-old Daniel Haas Jr. while brandishing a firearm. They ultimately killed him with a machete-style knife, prosecutors said.
Detectives are still working to identify the accomplice.
Bailey faces 30 years to life in prison and must serve 85% of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.
“We are thankful that the jury applied the law properly in this case and found the defendant guilty. While the case remains active to identify the co-conspirator, we hope this begins the healing process for the victim’s family,” Assistant Prosecutor Julianne Bollettieri said.
