NEWARK, N.J. (1010 WINS) – A man was sentenced to nine years in prison for receipt of child pornography, U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger announced on Thursday.
Benigno Gonzalez-Mendoza, 37, of Jersey City, was charged in 2019 and last April pleaded guilty to one count of receipt of child pornography, officials said.
From March 9, 2019, through July 27, 2019, Gonzalez-Mendoza knowingly received images and videos of child sexual abuse, including videos of adults sexually abusing prepubescent children, court documents stated.
Additionally, Gonzalez-Mendoza was also sentenced to 10 years of supervised release and was ordered to pay restitution of $18,000.
