EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Police on Wednesday arrested a man accused of stabbing his father multiple times at his New Jersey home, authorities said.
According to officials, the father was stabbed multiple times at a home on Buttonwood Drive in East Brunswick then fled to a house in Sayreville before he was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Sayreville police then contacted the East Brunswick Police Department about the incident just after 2 p.m. where the victim's son, Heng Shao, 40, was identified as a suspect.
Shao fled the home in a silver Honda Accord and was later located at the Menlo Park Mall in Edison where he was arrested.
He was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, terroristic threats and weapons-related offenses.
An investigation is ongoing.
