
WAYNE, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A 33-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly stabbed another man during a dispute in the parking lot of a New Jersey Planet Fitness.
Thomas Vitulano was taken into custody at his Mahwah home and charged with aggravated assault and possessions of a weapon and unlawful possession of a weapon, police said.
According to officials, just before 6 p.m., the victim got into an argument with Vitulano at the Planet Fitness located on Hamburg Turnpike in Wayne which then continued outside.
During the fight in the parking lot, Vitulano pulled a knife and stabbed the victim, authorities said.
Officers responded to the gym parking lot after receiving reports of a fight between two men.
"A knife believed to be used in the stabbing was found in the area by a patrol officer and recovered as evidence," Wayne Police Public Information Officer, Det. Capt. Dan Daly said.
The victim was taken to an area hospital in stable condition, police said.
An investigation remains ongoing.
