MILLVILLE, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- Police on Friday arrested a 29-year-old man accused of fatally shooting another man in New Jersey and had been on the run for nearly three weeks, authorities said.
Brandon Dennis is accused of fatally shooting 32-year old Patrick Trotter outside a home on West Main Street in Millville on Oct. 26, according to the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office.
An affidavit of probable cause filed in the case said that Dennis broke a window and kicked in the front door of the house then "engaged in a physical altercation" with Trotter in the home.
When the men walked outside, Dennis allegedly shot Trotter, then dragged his body to a wooded area behind the home and attempted to conceal it with grass clippings and other materials, investigators stated.
Dennis was found by officials in Bridgeton on Friday where he was taken into custody by the USMS/NJSP Task Force.
He is facing murder, aggravated assault, and weapons charges, officials said.
Additional charges against Dennis include burglary, desecration, terrorist threats, and possession of a weapon by someone prohibited because of a prior conviction for burglary, the prosecutor's office said.
