OCEANSIDE, N.Y. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A 27-year-old man attacked a worker and stole $2 while being kicked out of a Long Island beer store on Sunday afternoon, police said Monday.

The commotion started around 2:25 p.m. at Venom Beer and Convenience on Merrick Road in Oceanside.

Officers responded to a call that a man was causing a disturbance in the store, police said.

After a 27-year-old employee repeatedly asked the man to leave, he pushed her and threw a metal case at her, according to police. She suffered a minor injury to her left shoulder.

As he was leaving the store, he allegedly snatched two $1 bills that were displayed by an office desk.

Officers located the suspect a short time later and arrested him, police said.

He was identified as Stephen Jensen. He faces charges of second-degree robbery, second-degree assault, and criminal possession of stolen property.

He was set to be arraigned on Monday in First District Court.
