SOUTH PLAINFIELD, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- A 23-year-old man was charged for a fatal shooting of three of his family members inside a New Jersey condo on Monday morning, authorities said Tuesday.
At approximately 9 a.m. authorities responded to a residence on Coppola Drive in South Plainfield following the report of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Dilipkumar Brahmbhatt, 72, Yashkumar Brahmbhatt, 38 and Bindu Brahmbhatt, 72, with gunshot wounds.
Dilipkumar and Bindu were pronounced dead at the scene.
Yashkumar was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police identified Om Brahmbhatt, who was at the home when police arrived, as a suspect, authorities said. He was arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree murder and related weapons offenses.
According to prosecutors, Om lived inside the home. He is being held in Middlesex County jail pending a detention hearing.
