
VALLEY STREAM, N.Y. (1010 WINS) – A man was found dead and bleeding on a Long Island roadway Monday night in a suspected hit-and-run, Nassau County police said Tuesday.
The victim was lying on a residential stretch of Broadway, near Ash Street, in Valley Stream when police officers arrived shortly before 8 p.m.
He was bleeding and suffering from severe head trauma, according to police, who said it appeared he’d been struck by a vehicle whose driver fled.
A police medic pronounced him dead at the scene.
He hasn’t yet been named by police but is believed to be in his 40s.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
