TERRYVILLE, N.Y. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A man was arrested on Friday night and charged with DWI after he crashed into a parked car and fence, hospitalizing his passenger with serious injuries, the Suffolk County Police Department said.

Marcio Sanchez-Padilla, 29, was driving northbound in a 2005 Nissan Altima at 11:38 p.m. on Friday in Terryville when he lost control of the car.

The vehicle left the road and struck a parked car and fence in front of 9 Half Mile Road, officials said.

Walter Rodriguez, 40, was riding in Sanchez-Padilla's front passenger seat and sustained serious injuries, police said. He was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment.

The driver was taken to the same hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Sanchez-Padilla was charged with DWI and will be arraigned at a later date.
