NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A homeless man believed to be on crack was arrested on Sunday after blocking traffic on Long Island and injuring an officer in a struggle with cops, police said.

In the streets of Cedarhurst, Mark Daniels, 51, was blocking traffic at around 9:16 p.m. in front of 380 Rockaway Turnpike.

Nassau County Police received a call and arrived at the scene. They then attempted to guide Daniels to the sidewalk.

Daniels resisted physically and was shortly arrested, police said.

One officer sustained an injury due to Daniels' behavior, authorities said.

After an investigation, it was found that Daniels had a white powdery substance on him believed to be cocaine and a glass pipe containing a residue suspected to be crack cocaine.

He was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

Daniels now faces multiple charges, including assault, criminal possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.
