HARTFORD (1010 WINS) – A Connecticut man faces a murder charge after he allegedly stabbed his 78-year-old father to death outside of a Hartford motel in the city’s first homicide of 2025.

Raybin Hokim, 49, allegedly stabbed his father, Vincent Hokim, around 11 a.m. Saturday inside a car outside the Travel Inn Motel at 100 Weston St.

Officers responded to a call of two men fighting and arrived as the son was exiting the vehicle, Hartford Police Lt. Aaron Boisvert told the Hartford Courant.

His father was found in the driver seat, unresponsive and with multiple stab wounds, according to police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A potential motive remains unclear, but Boisvert described the stabbing as a “domestic incident, unfortunate incident, violent incident.”
