Nassau police say they responded to the Burlington Coat Factory store at 345 Rockaway Turnpike in North Lawrence on Wednesday just after 9 a.m.

While cops were at the scene for a report of larceny, they said Yance Folk, 49, of Rosedale, walked passed them with two duffle bags filled with store merchandise.

Police said Folk made his way for the door, making no attempt to pay for the items. Folk then allegedly ran to the parking lot as officers tried to apprehend him.

After a short pursuit on foot, police got to Folk, who then punched an officer in the face and continued throwing punches and kicks, police said.

According to Nassau police, cops were forced to use a Taser on Folk, who was finally subdued and taken into custody.

Officials said one officer went to a hospital with injuries to his face and finger.

Folk was charged with assault, petit larcent and resisting arrest, and was arraigned Thursday.
