VIDEO: Man who repeatedly stabbed 15-year-old boy in Upper Manhattan wanted by NYPD

NEW YORK (1010) -- Police are searching for a man wanted for repeatedly stabbing a teen boy during a dispute in Upper Manhattan last month.

Just before 3 p.m. on February 24, a 15-year-old male victim was sitting on his scooter when he was approached by an unknown individual at the northwest corner of 179 Street and University Avenue in the University Heights section, where the two engaged in a verbal dispute, officials said.


The dispute escalated into a physical encounter and the suspect displayed a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times about the body, according to police.

The suspect then fleeing the scene on foot, eastbound on West Burnside Avenue authorities said.

EMS transported the victim to Saint Barnabas, where he has since been treated and released.

No property was taken in the incident.

Police described the suspect as a man in his 20's, with a dark complexion, approximately 5'8" tall, weighing 160 lbs., small build, and black hair.

He was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, a grey hooded sweat jacket, grey pants, a black surgical mask, and sneakers.
