Psaki said Biden "had spent approximately 30 minutes in proximity" with the staff member on Air Force One during a flight on Friday from South Carolina to Pennsylvania.

"This staff member is fully vaccinated and boosted, and tested negative prior to boarding Air Force One, as is required for everyone traveling with the President," she said. "This staff member did not begin to experience symptoms until Sunday, and was tested on Monday."

The president's results were negative when he received an antigen test Sunday and a PCR test Monday.

Psaki said Biden, who is fully vaccinated and boosted, will be tested again on Wednesday.

Biden will not need to quarantine as per CDC guidance and will continue his daily schedule. He will address the nation Tuesday afternoon on the status of the country’s fight against COVID-19.
