NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The Internal Revenue Service is expected to push this year’s April 15 tax-filing deadline back until mid-May, according to reports.
The agency “is still figuring out what the final deadline will be,” but is “considering setting the filing deadline either on May 15 or May 17, Bloomberg reported, citing two sources familiar with the plan.
It wasn’t immediately clear when the IRS planned to release a statement announcing the new deadline.
The move will give taxpayers more time to pay up “in what is becoming one of the most complicated tax seasons in decades,” the outlet noted.
