Man suspending himself from Trump Tower in Chicago, demanding to speak with Trump, threatening suicide; SWAT negotiators on scene
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- SWAT team negotiators arrived Sunday night at Trump International Hotel & Tower in Chicago trying to bring down a man suspended by a cable harness from a 16th floor landing demanding to speak to President Trump and threatening to kill himself by cutting the cable, police said.
The man, who is in his 20s, has been dangling there since late afternoon. and as 11 p.m. local time (midnight New York time), he was still there. At 5:27 p.m., Chicago Police officers, a SWAT team, and the Chicago Fire Department responded to a call of a suicidal man.
A video was posted to social media of a video of the purported man recording his own message while hanging from the building. "Hello everyone. I am a member of Black Lives Matter, and I want to talk with Mr. Trump before the election. I don't want to die. if someone will try to pull this rope, I will jump and die."
