NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police on Wednesday arrested a Texas man near Vice President Kamala Harris' residence in Washington, D.C. after they found a rifle and ammunition in his car, according to reports.
Paul Murray, 31, was arrested and charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, carrying a rifle or shotgun outside of a business, possession of unregistered ammunition and possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device on Wednesday afternoon, CNBC reported.
The San Antonio resident was arrested outside the Naval Observatory, where Harris' residence is located, the outlet reported. Harris does not live at the home yet, as it is being renovated, the outlet noted.
Murray's car, which was parked in a garage "some distance away" from the Observatory, had a rifle and ammunition inside it, according to the outlet.
Murray was "wanted by the police," the outlet reported, without immediately saying why.
Harris' spokeswoman, Sabrina Singh, directed CNBC's request for comment on the arrest to the Secret Service.
