FBI thwart plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Whitmer ahead of election at her vacation home, 6 arrested

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Six people have been arrested in connection to a plot to kidnap Democratic Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, according to a criminal complaint

Those arrested are: Adam Fox, Barry Croft, Ty Garbin, Kaleb Franks, Daniel Harris and Brandon Caserta have been named in the criminal complaint.

The plot involved kidnapping Whitmer from her vacation home.

The FBI said in the court filing that four of the men had planned to meet Wednesday "make a payment on explosives and exchange tactical gear."

One of the men arrested was quoted in the filing as saying, Whitmer “has no checks and balances at all. She has uncontrolled power right now. All good things must come to an end."

Another man said Whitmer should be tried for "treason" and hoped to kidnap her before the election.
