President Donald Trump announced Friday that he’s banning three major news outlets from the White House: CNN, MSNOW and Politico.
“I am proud to announce that, effective immediately, I am banning Fake News CNN, MSNOW (who recently changed their name from MSNBC due to lack of viewership and credibility!), and Politico (The recipients of an illegal and ridiculous $8 Million Dollar subscription, an All Time Record, directly from the United States Government, under Crooked Joe Biden, in order to keep them ‘alive,’ (seems like corruption to me!), from the White House as a result of their constant ‘reporting’ FAKE NEWS! Media Outlets shouldn’t be able to constantly write or report FICTION and LIES when they’re covering the President of the United States, the Trump Administration, or the United States of America,” said Trump in a Truth Social post. “Other Fake News Media Outlets to follow.”
Trump’s post comes as his approval ratings remain low amid economic pressure on Americans and as the GOP falters ahead of the upcoming midterm elections. In particular, Trump’s decision to go to war with Iran has been unpopular and has continued to high gas prices for months.
Previously, Trump banned the Associated Press from the White House over its reporting on his move to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America. Then, the AP sued three White House officials and argued that the ban was unconstitutional and was granted access. Last November, the AP and the Trump administration argued the case before a federal appeals court.
