Trump filed the lawsuit in the Washington D.C. District Court against the House select committee investigating the January 6 Capitol riots and the National Archives.

“In a political ploy to accommodate his partisan allies, President Biden has refused to assert executive privilege over numerous clearly privileged documents requested by the Committee,” Trump says, according to the court papers.

The suit could potentially spur a lengthy legal battle over the matter.

Several Trump aides have been subpoenaed in relation to the probe, including Dan Scavino, House chief of staff Mark Meadows and former adviser Steve Bannon.
