NJ expanding vaccine eligibility to essential workers including teachers, postal workers

TRENTON, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- Gov. Phil Murphy on Monday said New Jersey will expand COVID-19 vaccine eligibility to a number of essential workers in March, including teachers, child care workers, postal workers and clergy members.

Pre-K to 12th grade teachers, support staff members and child care, transportation and public safety workers will be eligible for the vaccine starting March 15, Murphy said.


The following essential workers, meanwhile, will become eligible on March 29, Murphy said:

- Food production, agriculture and food distribution
- Eldercare and support
- Warehousing and logistics
- Social services support staff
- Elections personnel
- Hospitality
- Medical supply chain
- Postal and shipping services
- Clergy
- Judicial system
