
NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A New Jersey man admitted to possessing four destructive devices on Monday, according to the Department of Justice.
Robert J. Moser, 32, pleaded guilty to information charging him with possessing destructive devices, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger announced.
According to court documents, on March 15, 2023, police responded to Moser’s house in Mays Landing, Atlantic County after he had allegedly overdosed on drugs.
During the response, police found four destructive devices in Moser’s bedroom, all containing “explosive powder” with a fuse sticking out.
Prosecutors said that one of the devices contained metal pieces, another had a metal nail and a protruding metal screw hook, the third had a metal screw hook, and the fourth contained five metal dart tips. All devices contained an explosive mixture of perchlorate and nitrate.
Moser admitted that all the destructive devices found were operable weapons.
Moser faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
He is scheduled for sentencing on Nov. 13.
