Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka tests positive for COVID-19

NEWARK, N.J. (1010 WINS) — Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka announced Wednesday that he tested positive for the coronavirus on Tuesday.

"I tested positive for COVID yesterday and thankfully my wife and son tested negative," he said on Twitter. "By the grace of God I'm okay and have no symptoms at all."

On Monday, Baraka issued an executive order that required residents and visitors to wear a mask indoors in public spaces.
