Both the 20-year-old woman and her 22-year-old boyfriend were charged with endangering the welfare of a child and possession of a controlled substance, the prosecutor’s office said in a statement Saturday.

The names of the couple were not released to protect the identity of the child who, according to the prosecutor’s office, is in good health.

The pair are being held in the Hudson County Correctional Facility, authorities said.

The arrests were made after an investigation by the prosecutor office's Special Victims Unit, aided by the Jersey City Police Department and Jersey City Public Schools.
