JERSEY CITY, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- Members of the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit arrested a 45-year-old man in a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a pedestrian last month.
Marvin Flores Ortiz was charged with knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle collision resulting in serious bodily injury and endangering an injured victim.
On Wednesday, December 20, 2023, shortly after 11 a.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a pedestrian stuck in the area of Central Avenue and Ferry Street in Jersey City.
Responding officers located a 71-year-old old man victim with serious injuries.
EMS transported him to Jersey City Medical Center.
The striking vehicle did not remain at the scene.
Flores Ortiz was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office in Secaucus and released pending a court appearance tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, February 13.
