NJ man charged with desecration of remains after woman found dead in car

FREEHOLD, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A New Jersey man has been charged with desecration of human remains after a woman was found dead inside a car in Atlantic Highlands last Friday.

Jordan J. Vilcatoma-Correjo, 28, was booked at the Monmouth County jail on Saturday and remained there as of Thursday morning, a spokesperson for the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office told NJ.com.

The woman, who has yet to be identified, was found around 7:45 a.m. near Asbury Avenue, between Navesink and Grand avenues, authorities said Friday.

The prosecutor's office spokesperson said Vilcatoma-Correjo is scheduled to appear in Superior Court at 1:30 p.m. Monday.

An investigation into the death remains ongoing. The cause and manner of death were pending the performance of an autopsy.
