According to police, officers responded to a residence on Hinchman Avenue around 10:33 p.m. on Friday for a reported domestic dispute.

Police did not say what the argument was about, but noted officers were able to defuse the situation between the two roommates and left.

About an hour later, Wayne police responded to another call for a report of an unresponsive man at the same residence. When they arrived, they found Majuri on the ground and were unsuccessful at attempts to revive him.

Majuri was pronounced dead just after midnight Saturday morning, according to the prosecutor’s office.

Investigators said Rance had strangled the man during their argument, ultimately resulting in his death.

Rance was arrested at the scene without incident.

Officials note the investigation remains ongoing.
