BERGENFIELD, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A New Jersey man is accused of sexually assaulting a child under the age of 13, officials said Wednesday.
Julian A. Rojo, 40, is charged with second-degree sexual assault by contact and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella annnounced.
Rojo came under scrutiny when the Bergenfield Police Department on Monday notified the Special Victims Unit of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office about the alleged sexual assault of a child.
An investigation by these agencies revealed that the 40-year-old sexually assaulted the child, who was less than 13 years old, in Bergenfield. He was arrested that same day.
Rojo was held at the Bergen County Jail pending his first court appearance.
