NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A New Jersey police officer has been arrested and charged with sexually abusing a child several times over the course of nearly two years, prosecutors say.
Clifton Police Officer Frank Castro-Ramirez, 39, of Clifton, was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, two counts of second-degree sexual assault, two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child and one count of third-degree aggravated criminal sexual assault on June 3, the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office said in a press release Tuesday.
The Clifton Police Department contacted the prosecutor's office after receiving a report that Castro-Ramirez had sexually abused a child, the release said.
Castro-Ramirez has been charged with sexually abusing the child at the child's home in Clifton several times between May 2019 and April of this year, according to prosecutors. The child's age wasn't released.
The police officer's attorney information wasn't immediately available Tuesday.
