Noel Ramos, 27, was arrested on March 24 in connection with the multi-vehicle crash in the 400 block of Lexington Avenue in Clifton on Feb. 13.

Officers responded just before 12:30 a.m. to find Ramos' 2019 Dodge Challenger in the middle of the road, having collided with another vehicle that was occupied, causing that vehicle to collide with a third vehicle that was parked nearby.

The occupant of the first car Ramos struck suffered bodily injury and was taken to Mary's General Hospital in Passaic, where he was treated and released, officials said.

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said in a statement that Ramos, who was off-duty at the time of the crash, "had been operating his vehicle recklessly with a blood-alcohol content above the legal limit at the time of the crash."

Ramos was initially charged with third-degree assault by auto causing bodily injury within a school zone and reckless driving, but those charges were dropped Thursday, NJ.com reports.

Along with his year-long intervention program, Ramos will be required to install an ignition interlock device on his vehicle, officials said.
