TRENTON (1010 WINS) -- New Jersey reported its highest single-day number of new coronavirus cases on Thursday.
The state saw 4,913 new positive cases. It's the most in one day since the pandemic began in March, though testing was less widely available in the spring and test results were expected to fluctuate around Thanksgiving.
The previous single-day high was on Nov. 21, when 4,679 were reported, according to NJ.com.
The largest share of new cases, 498, were reported in Bergen County. Essex County saw 476 new positives and Middlesex County recorded 452.
"This pandemic is nowhere near over," Gov. Phil Murphy warned.
"We can't give up the fight now," he tweeted. "Mask up. Social distance. Wash your hands."
The state reported another 64 deaths, bringing the death toll to 15,373, not including 1,836 probable deaths.
Hospitalizations rose again to 3,292 patients, with 610 patients in intensive care and 366 on ventilators.
