NEW JERSEY (1010 WINS) — Terrifying video released by New Jersey transit officials shows a state trooper leaping out of the way as a semitruck plows through multiple vehicles on an interstate.
The video, released Monday by the New Jersey Department of Transportation, captured the moment the tractor trailer slammed head on into the cruiser with a violent bang and the frantic aftermath.
The crash happened on Interstate 80 in northern New Jersey on Feb. 24.
"This is a heart-stopping reminder of why motorists need to slow down and move over for first responders," NJDOT said on Twitter.
The department noted that no one was injured in the crash.
