TEANECK, N.J. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- Fairleigh Dickinson University campus in New Jersey went into lockdown Monday amid reports of an armed person, but police soon gave the "all clear," university officials said.
The university issued an urgent alert to students at 11 a.m. about the presence of a potentially armed person in the north parking lot of the Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck.
All buildings were locked down, officials said.
The university advised all students and staff on campus to remain inside.
"Police conducting investigation. If you are not on campus, do not come to campus until notified. Those on campus should remain indoors and clear of windows. Do not go to next class until notified," read a statement from the university's official X account.
After an investigation, police reported that the campus was all clear.
School officials said normal activities would resume while police continue to patrol the campus.
