
TRENTON, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- On Monday, New Jersey expanded its vaccine eligibility to include essential workers at restaurants, grocery stores, as well as those in the hospitality, shipping, and postal industries.
Gov. Phil Murphy announced the eligibility for the large group of frontline workers at the beginning of the month.
Workers now eligible for the vaccine include:
- Food production, agriculture, and food distribution
- Eldercare and support
- Hospitality
- Warehousing and logistics
- Social services support staff
- Elections personnel
- Medical supply chain
- Postal and shipping services
- Judicial system
- Clergy
The expansion comes a day after New Jersey is back atop the list of states with the highest COVID infection rates.
