TRENTON, N.J. (1010 WINS) — New Jersey's first lady Tammy Murphy tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday, officials from Gov. Phil Murphy's office said in a statement.

The first lady, who is fully vaccinated and boosted, tested positive on a rapid antigen test, the statement added. She is asymptomatic, while the rest of the family has tested negative.

Tammy and her husband, Gov. Phil Murphy, who is also fully vaccinated and boosted, tested "due to a recent known non-family contact in their home."

The Murphy family also returned Thursday from an eight-day trip to Costa Rica, which Republicans condemned.

Murphy's office said his planned COVID-19 briefing for Monday will switch to a virtual format while he and the rest of his family continue to rapidly test in the days ahead.

"He will continue to wear a mask in all public settings," the statement continued.
