ABERDEEN, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- A man was struck and killed by an NJ Transit train Friday morning, prompting suspension of service on a portion of its North Jersey Coast Line.
The pedestrian was struck just after 8 a.m. near the crossing at Cliffwood Avenue northwest of the Aberdeen-Matawan train station in Aberdeen by a train scheduled to arrive at Penn Station New York at 9:03 a.m.
Trains were suspended between South Amboy and Long Branch but resumed with delays of up to an hour at around 9:50 a.m.
New Jersey Transit Police were on the scene investigating.
